InDesign Accessibility Contrast

A free script that shows the contrast values for the current text selection in InDesign.

Use the On / off Check box to activate the script.

Make a selection in a text frame to see the contrast.

A contrast of >= 4.5 is good for normal text. ( you determine what normal text is )

The script currently only works on the text selections. The background colour is taken as the text frame fill, the paragraph shading or the table cell fill. The script will only go one level deep. Text on paths is not handled at all. The script does not like overset text, you will see an alert for this. Minimum testing in 20 ( 2025 ) and 19 ( 2024 )

The paragraph in the cell has a pink / red 20% paragraph shading
